How FORKLEAN Came to Be
When I was in the throes of my eating disorder, I ballooned up to 200lbs seemingly overnight. I felt utterly alone and helpless. None of the “experts” I turned to had the first clue what was wrong with me, and no one in my life seemed to understand that my problems had roots far deeper than a simple “eating program” could fix.
As I gazed over my 200lb body, I made a promise to myself that would alter the course of my life forever.
I vowed to my 17-year-old self that the day I got my “food problems” figured out – I would share my secrets with the world.
FORKLEAN is much more than your standard “weight loss” blog full of facts and figures.
What you will discover here is the result of hundreds of hours of research, countless self-discoveries, and ultimately 70lbs of weight loss that led to success beyond what I could have imagined. Not only is this blog a gift to the 200-pound girl I used to be who was desperate for answers, but for everyone who is walking this path alone.

My Weight Loss Story
My weight loss journey began almost immediately after graduating high school – around the same time I decided to ditch conventional weight loss advice in lieu of some good old fashion self-experimentation. As the pounds fell off and I began building my personal library of knowledge, I behan feeling a growing pull towards a career in the health and wellness field. I received my B.S in Health Education and Health Promotion from Arizona State University, which eventually led to a job in corporate wellness at a Fortune 500 Company working as a coach to hundreds of employees and executives across the country.
It was through personal training and coaching that I began exploring the intricacies of not only the physical side of weight loss, but the critical mental piece as well – and more importantly how exactly the two fit together.
These early years of coaching also confirmed my suspicions that most of what people know about weight loss is wrong. This revelation eventually led me down a path of diving deep into the science of fasting, which turned out to be the magic bullet for weight loss I had been desperately seeking.
When it comes to weight loss the majority of what requires fixing lives in your head, not your body.
When I was fat, I didn’t need hundreds of doctor-reviewed articles regurgitating the same facts. I needed a personal account from a person who used to be just like me.
This blog is not only for 200lb me, but for anyone weathering this weight loss journey alone. I have been in your shoes. I understand that weight is much more than just the size that we wear.
But in order to change our size, we must first dive deep into the recesses of our minds and calibrate ourselves for success.
I will share with you how fasting, particularly intermittent fasting, has changed my life, and in ways far greater than what it has done for my body. (Though I must admit, that part is pretty great too!)
You will also discover some of the most important mental hacks and weight loss strategies that helped me lose over 70lbs and keep it off, as well as some of the more unconventional techniques I swear by that have accounted for the majority of my weight loss success.
